Shakirra is an African American Berenguer baby doll. She
has been made from a play doll into a beautiful realistic
baby girl. She is so very cuddly and loveable.
I began Shakirra's transformation by taking
her apart and removing the factory paint and hair lines.
Then she got a wonderful warm bubble bath to become squeaky
clean for the next step. Once she was dry I began to give
her a beautiful skin tone using genesis heat set oil paints.
She was given several layers until she was just right.
Then the fun begins with blushing her in all the right
places. Blushing just gives that spark of life that makes
Shakirra so realistic looking. She has hand painted eyebrows,
fingernails and toenails. Her lips were painted to a natural
baby color and her nose was shaded to look like it has
been opened. Once Shakirra was painted perfectly she was
then covered with a matte set varnish that adds some skin
texture and adds that perfect last touch of protection
and keeps her from becoming shiny.
Now Shakirra gets hair. It has been micro
rooted with 'oh so soft' premium black mohair. Her eyelashes
have been micro rooted also with the black mohair. Then
her hair was sealed on the inside of her head with a waterproof
glue so her hair can be washed and styled as needed.
Then Shakirra was given a brand new fleece
jointed body. Her 1/4th limbs and body have been filled
with tiny glass beads, plastic pellets and poly-fil and
sealed to prevent leakage. Her head has been weighted with
glass beads and poly-fil and now has that real baby feel
when you pick her up. You even have to support her head
like you would a real baby. Her head turns from side to
side.
Shakirra has been given a magnetic pacifier
and loves it when she sleeps.
Shakirra wears size 0-3 month baby clothes.
**Shakirra has been transformed from a child's
toy to a wonderful heirloom adult collectible baby and
not recommended for small children under the age of 10.
She is to be handled as you would handle a newborn baby.**
